![]() This is the only gamemode that actually utilises the Wii U’s main selling point of being able to play without a TV, and also promotes asymmetrical gameplay. The players win if at least one player makes it to the end of the board with their hearts intact, but if all players are defeated, Bowser wins. If Bowser catches up to the other players, a mini game takes place in which Bowser uses the GamePad's to hurt the players, this also shows of the gyroscope. ![]() The four main players are tasked with reaching the end of the board without losing all of their hearts whilst avoiding being caught by Bowser, who is trying to stop them. In Bowser Party, four players use the Wii Remotes and the fifth player controls Bowser using the Wii U GamePad. However, this does mean I now have an excuse to buy more. Moreover, the Amiibo can only save one data for one game, so I had to wipe the data from my Yoshi for Super Smash Bros so me and my wife could play. Furthermore, bonuses you collect throughout the game can be saved to the Amiibo for future use. This is a nice nifty feature in the game, but does not add to the overall. You hold the Amiibo on the gamepad to spin the dice and then release it to roll. The Amiibo is used to roll the dice in this version of the game, instead of simply pressing A. You convert coins to stars, and whoever has the most stars win. You collect stars via winning the mini games and landing on certain spots. This game mode features 10 rounds, and that many minigames to play. Players can scan in certain Amiibo characters and play on small board that go round in a square. This new mode is designed specifically for the Amiibo. ![]() I found that I typically got about 7-8 mini games per game, which is low. If playing on your own you can change the difficulty levels of the AI so that there is more of a challenge with the mini-games. You can play this with 1-4 players offline. This is disappointing that they continued to use this as dice rolls become less important for individual players because there is no race around the board. Characters move around in the same vehicle taking turns being the "captain", or rolling the dice. ![]() As in Mario Party 9, the characters have to get to the end of the path with the most Stars.
